Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Happy Feast of the Visitation! Here are some resources to help you learn more about Mary's visit to Elizabeth, both of them pregnant with children that will change the world.

39 In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judah, 40 and she entered the house of Zechari'ah and greeted Elizabeth. 41 And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit 42 and she exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
-- Lk 1:39-43
Note also that the many similarities between the Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth and the return of the Ark of the Covenant to David point to Mary as the Ark of the New Covenant (see my earlier post on Mary's sinlessness). For more on Mary as the Ark of the New Covenant, go here.
