Catholicism Reppin at the Podcast Awards

There's still time to vote in the 2007 Podcast Awards. What's great is that a few Catholic podcasts are finalists in various categories: The Catholic Jukebox Blog explains the significance of this:
Speaking of Podcasts
A win for a Catholic podcast helps bring recognition to all Catholic podcasts. The Catholic Church isn’t always seen as progressive when it comes to the media, but with the call of Pope John Paul II for a new evangelization, more Catholics are using the media. Being part of SQPN, we are striving to be the best in Catholic podcasting so that we can be an example for all Catholic podcasting. Previous wins by The Catholic Insider and Rosary Army has shown to all podcasting fans that Catholics can indeed compete with the secular media in producing shows that both captivate and inspire people to live their faith.

But Most of All
More than helping the industry, the artists or the podcasting community, a win for a Catholic podcast is a win for the soul. When you encounter Christ, you can’t help but change. Every show from SQPN or DwM keeps Christ first in their purpose and vows to be faithful to His church’s teachings. If our goal was to just play some cool music, or rant about our jobs or discuss the movies, then a win for us is just a win for us. But our goal is to help the body of Christ grow, so a win for us is a win for the whole body.
Let's represent the Church and show the Podcast World that nobody holds it down like the Mystical Body of Christ. Voting ends Aug. 11th. VOTE TODAY!

Pax Christi,
