We must hold ourselves ready, not to leave this world before the fixed hour, but to await with the greatest possible calm the hour of our departure. For this reason I think you will find it very helpful if you put aside an hour every day in the presence of God and your guardian angel to make a good reflection on death. If you knew that this were coming soon, how you would put your affairs in order! I know quite well that such thoughts are not new for you, but your must ponder them more deeply in a new way and in the presence of God. Do so with a peaceful effort to move your will more than enlighten your intellect.
