Your protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil
Hi Nicholas,I wonder if you could offer some thoughts on the recent exhumation of St Pio? His head and face were quite badly deteriorated so a plastic mask has been placed over his skull. People therefore are not seeing him as he was or is. Is that sound Christian belief - or Plastic Surgery Theology.(a 21st century branch of theology common in Hollywood with roots in medieval superstition) James
Enjoy your birthday! Same as mine, that's how I remember, it used to be on your side bar.God Bless.
James,Assuming that his head and face were as badly deteriorated as you claim, the fact that his body may not be incorrupt does not itself disprove his sanctity. Incorruptibility is the exception for a saint, not the norm. The vast majority of the holy men and women of the Church turned to dust like most people do. I don't think that this revelation about the condition of his body after death should cause us to question at all the holiness of Padre Pio or the Church's decision to canonize him.Pax Christi, phatcatholic
